| No
one would deny that electricity
has become a major part
of our everyday life.
But have you ever wonder
where it was originated?
Let's get to know more
about electricity. |
| |
| Electricity was discovered
approximately 200 years
ago, somewhere around
the year 1882, when Thomas
Alva Edison invented the
first electric generator
and light bulb. He later
built his first electricity
generating facility in
New York. |
| |
| Two years afterward,
Thailand, led by the military,
started adopting Edison's
electricity. In the era
of Rama the fifth, it
was brought to be used
within the Royal Palace.
Electricity was, at that
time, considered as a
symbol of prosperity and
modernness. |
| |
| Later, electricity was
taken into the national
economic and social development
plan. In the year 1969,
the government established
the Electricity Generating
Authority of Thailand,
which was given the sole
authority to produce electricity
and maintain its transmission
lines within the nation.
The same organization
is responsible for the
management of electricity
up until now. |
